The meaning of afthermath is the outcome or after-effect of a significant unpleasant event. The aftermath is the positive outcome of the three past years of developing innovative garments, from first to the third year of University. Throughout the three years of developing garment designs, I have developed varieties of garment: 'Asylum', 'dance x fashion student collaboration-developing contemporary dance costumes', 'Arcanum', 'Y&J' & 'Drapetomania'. These projects all associated with ensuring individuals are aware of the negative impact of Mental Health Issues. Though, as for my final year project, I decided to promote positivity. This is by encouraging individuals and ensuring that there are possibilities on recovering from mental health. Therefore, 'The Aftermath' collection AW19 is about promoting positivity after the impact of Mental Health Issue. Which is why the collection consists of four outfits with four keywords; Courage, Determination, Firmness & Strength. These four keywords can inspire an individual and give them the thought of being able to survive any difficult situations.
